About

I’m a mother to two rapidly growing boys with hollow legs, a wife to an Italian historian and a chef in my working life. We love to travel and want to show our kids as much of the world as we can before they drive us completely mad and we give them away to a travelling circus. Life is about living and living is moving out of your comfort zone from time to time. We are lucky enough to be able to spend a year living in Florence, Italy as of next month. With bags not even packed, cooking functions piling up and kids footy, swimming and a social life rocketing along, we are about to have a big reality check!

    • Hi Eszter, thanks for stopping by. A month in and I don’t have any gripes, we love it. The boys start Italian school next week so I guess that will change things but all in all we are making the most of our year here.
How is the move back to Thailand? I’m envious of all the wonderful food!
      Best,
      Camilla

  1. I’ve just discovered your blog today and I want to read every single page ~ I’m hoping, no.. planning to spend a year or so living in il bel paese, possibly next year. What a wonderful experience! Enjoy every minute of it. I will be following along. Marnie

    • Hi, I just popped over to your site, how exciting! There is so much to say about living here for a year…maybe we should have a Spritz in a Sydney when we get back! Personally I say GO FOR IT!

      • I would LOVE to! I’d love to hear everything! Its such a coincidence that you’re married to an historian too ~ I have a secret dream of spending a year furthering my studies at the British School at Rome. I’m on the north shore too, so not far. In the mean time, I’ll be travelling vicariously with you. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog too. Marnie

  2. What a surprise! I’ve just pumped into your blog… I’m italian from Florence (even if I moved to Canada almost 2 years ago). I can’t wait to hear from you about my beloved city! ciao!
